**Value Reference**

* 100 VIRI locked for 3 months = 25 Votes.
* 100 VIRI locked for 6 months = 50 Votes.
* 100 VIRI locked for 9 months = 75 Votes.
* 100 VIRI locked for 12 months = 100 Votes.

Votes encompassing the locked VIRI. \
To vote for options and reap rewards like trading fees and bribes you require Votes. \

Its value hinges on metrics such as the amount of locked VIRI, duration of the lock, voteable emissions, price, and other factors.&#x20;

### Manage Your Locks

* **Add VIRI**\
  Increase the amount of VIRI locked in a Set of Votes to increase voting power.
* **Extend**\
  Ensure that your locks don't unintentionally expire by extending their duration regularly, either weekly or monthly, based on your initially selected locking period. This practice will also ensure that your voting power remains at its maximum capacity consistently.&#x20;
* **Transfer**\
  Votes can be transferred between wallets, but you must reset your votes before doing so.
* **Reset**\
  Use the Reset Votes button when you need to transfer, merge or withdraw an expired lock.
* **Withdraw**\
  This option is only visible for expired locks. Make sure to reset your votes before withdrawing.

If your Set of Votes *is* ***expired***, you can withdraw your VIRI from it. \
However, before proceeding, two crucial steps must be completed:

1. Claim all the rewards associated to the expired Set of Votes. \
   Please perform it proactively before expiration to prevent any issues.
2. Reset the Votes associated to the expired Set of Votes.
